Mizzle privacy policy
Last updated 29 October 2026
Mizzle is published by Onibaku ("we", "us").
Where it runs
Mizzle runs on your watch. There's no Onibaku account and no Onibaku server: nothing you do in the app is ever sent to us.
What it uses, and why
- Your approximate location, only if you tap Use my location. Mizzle asks for coarse location, uses it while the app is open, and afterwards reads the last position your watch already knows when it updates the forecast. It never asks for background location and never tracks you.
- The city you search for, if you choose one instead.
Who receives data
- MET Norway (the Norwegian Meteorological Institute) receives the forecast position, rounded to about 1 km, up to once an hour, to send back the forecast. See MET Norway's privacy policy.
- OpenStreetMap Foundation (Nominatim) receives the text of a city search, and the rounded position when Mizzle looks up the name of the town you're in. See the OSMF privacy policy.
Both see your watch's IP address, as any web request does. Everything is sent over HTTPS. We don't share data with anyone else, and there are no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs in the app.
What it stores
Your chosen place, units, whether you've bought Pro and the latest forecast are saved on your watch only, excluded from Android backups. Clear them by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it.
Payments
Mizzle Pro is bought through Google Play, so Google handles the payment. We receive only the anonymised sales reports Google Play gives every developer.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. For this app the answer is none, because nothing is sent to us. If you email us for support, we keep the email for as long as we need it to help you and delete it within a year. Questions or complaints: admin@onibaku.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top and describe the change in the app's release notes.
