Pegbox privacy policy
Last updated 29 October 2026. Pegbox is made by Onibaku (admin@onibaku.co.uk).
Where it runs
Pegbox runs entirely on your phone or tablet. There's no Onibaku account and no Onibaku server. The only network traffic is Google Play's own billing service, used to check and make the one-off Pro purchase.
The microphone
Pegbox needs the microphone to hear your instrument. While the tuner is on screen it reads the sound into memory, works out the pitch, and discards it a fraction of a second later. Audio is never recorded, saved to a file or sent anywhere. Pegbox stops listening as soon as it leaves the screen. You can withdraw the permission at any time in Android's settings.
What it stores
Your chosen instrument and tunings, any custom tunings, your A4 setting, metronome tempo and whether you've bought Pro are kept in the app's settings on your device. If you use Android's backup, Android may include these settings in your own Google account backup. Clear them by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it.
Payments
Pro is bought through Google Play, so Google handles the payment under its own privacy policy. We receive only the anonymised sales reports Google Play gives every developer.
What it doesn't do
- No account, sign-in or contact details.
- No ads, analytics, crash reporting or tracking SDKs.
- No location, contacts, camera or file access.
