Tachy privacy policy
Last updated 29 October 2026. Tachy is made by Onibaku (admin@onibaku.co.uk).
Where it runs
Tachy runs entirely on your phone. There's no Onibaku account and no Onibaku server. The only network traffic Tachy itself makes is to Google Play's billing service, to check and make the one-off Pro purchase.
What it reads
- Network byte counters. To show your speed, Tachy reads the phone's total bytes sent and received once a second while the screen is on. It doesn't see what the traffic is or which app made it.
- Data usage totals (with usage access). To show Wi-Fi and mobile data used, Tachy asks Android for whole-device totals per day. It doesn't read your app usage or which apps you use.
What it stores
Your settings (meter on or off, units, data cap and billing day) and whether you've bought Pro are kept on your phone only, and are excluded from Android backups. Usage figures aren't stored by Tachy: they're read from Android each time. Clear everything by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it.
Payments
Pro is bought through Google Play, so Google handles the payment under its own privacy policy. We receive only the anonymised sales reports Google Play gives every developer.
What it doesn't do
- No account, sign-in or contact details.
- No ads, analytics, crash reporting or tracking SDKs.
- No location, contacts, camera, microphone or phone-number access.
