Zipcrate privacy policy
Last updated 30 October 2026. Zipcrate is made by Onibaku (admin@onibaku.co.uk).
Where it runs
Zipcrate runs entirely on your phone or tablet. There's no Onibaku account and no Onibaku server. The only network traffic is Google Play's own billing service, used to check and make the one-off Pro purchase.
What it uses
- Archives and files you choose. Zipcrate can only read the files you pick in Android's file picker, open with Zipcrate or share to it. It doesn't ask for access to all your files, photos or media.
- Folders you choose. Extracted files go to Downloads › Zipcrate, or to a folder you pick. If you pick one, Zipcrate remembers it until you tap Reset.
- Passwords. A password you type to open or create an archive is used for that archive only and is never stored.
What it stores
Whether you've bought Pro and the folder you picked, on your device only, excluded from Android backups. Files you open from inside an archive are unpacked into Zipcrate's private cache and cleared the next time it starts. Remove everything by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it; files you extracted stay where they were saved.
Payments
Pro is bought through Google Play, so Google handles the payment under its own privacy policy. We receive only the anonymised sales reports Google Play gives every developer.
What it doesn't do
- No account, sign-in or contact details.
- No ads, analytics, crash reporting or tracking SDKs.
- No uploading of your files, and no microphone, camera, location or contacts access.
